About Us
Dr. Deppen is originally from Skokie, IL where he attended Niles North High School. From there is went to Eckerd College, graduating with Honors with a degree in Biology, and a minor in Chemisty. Dr. Deppen then graduated magna cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Palmer is the oldest and most prestigious chiropractic school in the world.
Dr. Deppen is an outdoor enthusiast, and also an amateur competitive athlete. While at Eckerd College, he played volleyball for silver medalist Dexter Rodgers. While in graduate school Dr. Deppen developed a love for endurance events and has since completed multiple ultra-marathons and Ironman triathlons. He is classified as an elite amateur triathlete. Dr. Deppen also volunteers his time to help coach the Niles North boys Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Dr. Deppen has over 300 hours in continuing education. He has studied under many doctors from across the country and globe. He has a deep interest in rehab strategies, Vojta Therapy or Dynamic Neuromusclar Stabilization, McKenzie Method Protocol, Active Release Technique, Applied Kinesiology. He recently traveled to France to learn pediatric neurology, developmental kinesiology, and Vojta Therapy under Hugues Legache. He is sitting for the examination in the credentialing program for McKenzie Method in January. There are currently only 5 other chiropractors in Chicago with McKenzie credentials. In addition to all this Dr. Deppen is a USA Track and Field Certified Coach.
Dr. Deppen takes pride in the diversity of his practice. He has treated the whole gamut of patients: from spinal cord injury/quadriplegics to Olympic medalists, and also the everyday active person. His goals are to use his background to coach and teach an active model of health and utilize manual therapy to allow patients to achieve their own healthcare needs and goals.
